Revelation & Ruin
This body of work is a series that expresses the evolution of my personal cosmology and artistic development. My intent was to create narrative and archetypal scenes that began forming in my imagination during my childhood, and have continued through middle age. My love of the natural world, religious art, genre paintings of the American West, and personal experiences unique to my upbringing and family history, are at the core of each piece.
The materials I use come from my vast collection of personal memorabilia, artwork, photographs, vintage album covers, rocks, minerals, etcetera. Some of these date back to my childhood. Each detail contains its own story and significant history. The outcome is work that is deeply personal, but open to broad interpretation.
